Description

Despatch from the Foreign Department, Government of India, to theSecretary of State for India, No. 145 of 1870, dated 29 July 1870, containing anenclosure dated 17 July 1870. The enclosure consists of a copy of a letterfrom the Officiating Secretary to the Government of India, to the ActingSecretary to the Government of Bombay, summarising the Government of India'sattitudes since 1868 to potential attacks on Muscat by deposed former Sultan SyudSalim [Sayyid Sālim bin Thuwaynī Āl Bū Sa'īd] or his uncle Syud Toorkee [Sayyid Turkī bin Sa'īd Āl Bū Sa'īd].
