25 March Mr. Waller, architect, buried on Chosen Hill

30 March History of Punch and Judy show

1 April Quotation of Mr. M. Wellington for printing the History of Churchdown - over £20. Instructed to go ahead

11 April Wyndowe vault to be opened for interment of widow of Major Wyndowe. States that the vault had been appropriated by the Smiths of Parton Court - quite illegally

13 April At Parish Meeting Rev. Cooke suggested the advisability of a few lights in the 'thickest' part of the parish. The matter was deferred

22 April Bought a second hand wicker bath chair (35/-) for his wife, whose health has been very poor in recent months

24 April Elected a churchwarden (vicar's)

12 June Record of a case of appendicitis (son Arthur) and visit with the patient to a doctor at Thornbury

15 June Attended enthronement of the Bishop of Gloucester at the Cathedral

17 July Rev. Hodson's wife is to undergo an operation tomorrow - its nature not stated

19 July Operation was for removal of a tumour - ominous signs of cancer seen

23 July Rev. Hodson goes to see his wife in Cheltenham "being conveyed in Dr. Moore's motor car"

24 July An ecclesiastical commission sat to consider the status of St. Andrew's church, whether St. Bartholomew's should be used in the winter, which should constitute the Parish Church, where banns could be read etc.

22 Nov. Assistant schoolmaster H. Brown reported to have been seen in Gloucester at 11 pm yesterday but had not returned home

27 Nov. Still no news of him

29 Nov. Consecration of St. Andrew's Church. Full account

22 Dec. Mrs. Brown reported to have received a letter from her husband with Nottingham postmark. "One thing seems clear - H. B. has not committed suicide"
