Collection of Margaret Campbell

Margaret Campbell was a PhD student at the University of Edinburgh School of Art and studied the relationships between illnesses like tuberculosis and the architectural design of sanatoria and asylums and how modern design as a whole was affected. Her thesis was called Architecture of Hope: Tuberculosis: a Design Response, 1999 and other publications include What Tuberculosis did for Modernism: The Influence of a Curative Environment on Modernist Design and Architecture, 2005. Campbell had put an ad in the January 1998 issue of Saga Magazine asking to hear from people who experienced or had loved ones who experienced life in these institutions for research on her thesis on sanatoria and modernist design at the University of Edinburgh. DEP/CAM/1 and /2 were acquired separately. They are believed to be concerning the same Margaret Campbell, but this cannot be clearly ascertained.
