In November 1919 King George V made the Order in Council which founded the diocese of Bradford, created out the diocese of Ripon. Bradford's parish church of St Peter became the new cathedral; the Archdeacon of Plymouth, the Venerable Arthur Perowne, was appointed the first Bishop.
Microfiche copies of the registers of baptism, marriage and burial are available for reference at West Yorkshire Archive Service, Bradford Office, and at the other WYAS offices in Leeds, Wakefield, Kirklees and Calderdale.
