Administrative / biographical background

In 1985 a meeting was arranged between Gillian Stamp, Peter Croft, Stephen Verney, Rex Davies and Norman Todd took place to set up a support group for the deanery. This led to 18 months of funding for the group being secured from the Boards of Mission and Unity, Social Responsibility and Education. Four meetings a year took place of a membership of about a dozen. The group held a first consultation at Lincoln in 1988 and further self-financing conferences took place every two years. The most productive support for the group came from Parish and People who published the reports of all of the conferences.
