Letters between Richard W Goulding at Welbeck Abbey, Duke of Portland, & R H L Mott, Secretary of M.I.

Objection by Portland to M.I. allowing tenants to invite speakers "with notorious views on the present situation who have incurred the adverse notice of the Authorities" :- C.P. Trevelyan, MP, & Arnold Lupton. Detailed discussion of M.I.

Position & resolutions passed at meetings, ending with resignation of Portland from office of President, in part because of his position as representative of the King [Lord Lieutenant]
