The Crofts family was well established at Saxham, co. Suffolk, for several centuries. John CROFTS of West Stow, co. Suffolk, son and heir of Anthony and Mary Crofts, was born in 1635 and created a baronet 1660 March 16. He married Bryers WHARTON, only daughter of George Wharton and died at West Stow in 1664 December, when the baronetcy became extinct. His widow died at West Stow on 1669-70 January 13.
