Appeal by St Columb Major against a rate order and assessment dated 17 Jan. 1774 for the relief of the poor of St Agnes, following a writ of mandamus dated 29 Nov. 1773: rate order quashed.

Similar appeal by Lanivet, Cubert, Crantock, Padstow, St Breock, Withiel, St Issey, Little Colan, Newlyn, St Ervan, St Enoder, St Merryn, St Eval, Mawgan, Little Petherick, Lower St Columb and St Wenn: rate order quashed.

Presentment of road over Pentewan river, St Austell, leading to Mevagissey, and order made at last sessions to construct bridge at the expense of the county: bridge cannot be built out of county stock, so presentment and order discharged.

William Jenkyn and Thomas Bunny; convicted of stealing wood worth 4d from William Chilcott and Jeremiath Jenkyn: to be privately whipped and discharged.

Appeal by Illogan against order of 28 March 1774 for removal of William Oppey, tinner (36), wife Elizabeth, and children, Elizabeth (9), William (7) and Mary (2), from Kenwyn to Illogan: order reversed.

Samuel Pollard and John Truscott, both of St Kew, yeomen: acquitted of assault.

Case of William Rodda of Gulval: held over to next sessions.

Gideon Remfry; convicted of stealing cloth worth 2d. from William Lemon, esq.: 7 years' transportation.

John Peters of Probus; acquitted of stealing timber from George Lord Edgcumbe: discharged.

Catherine Williams; following ignoramus bill: discharged. William Downe: to remain in custody until next sessions.

Samuel Hocking: discharged for want of prosecution.

Jane Yendall, Ann Yendall, Jane Jolly and Catherine Jolly; charged with felony; unable to be brought for trial because of fever in bridewell: to remain in custody until next sessions.

John Short, committed for lack of sureties in bastardy; to remain in custody.

Clerk of the Peace to consult Mr Hamley, surgeon of bridewell, concerning precautions necessary for production of prisoners at next sessions with safety.

£14 8s. 5½d. to be paid to Richard Sturtridge and Solomon Spettigue, for clothes provided for prisoners at Lent Assizes at Launceston.

Sheriff to advertise in Sherborne Mercury a meeting to consider condition of present bridewell; Francis Rodd, esq., to procure plan for new gaol; notice of election of bridewell keeper at next sessions to be published in Sherborne Mercury.
