Microfilm copy of two ms diaries (36pp and 73pp) in pocket notebooks covering his service as a sapper in the 2nd East Anglian Field Company RE (54th Division) at Suvla Bay and Anzac, Gallipoli, from August to October 1915 and in the same Company, by then restyled the 484th Field Company RE, in Palestine, October - December 1917, including some interesting entries describing their operations during the 3rd Battle of Gaza. The diaries also contain quite detailed accounts of his journeys from the United Kingdom to Gallipoli in 1915 and Egypt in 1917, as well as of his time at a base depot outside Alexandria from August to October 1917.
