In the 1980's Lord Chelwood was much concerned in particular with the rights of the Palestinians to self-determination; he was also involved with the Conservative Middle East Council. The following files CLW/1/4/22-27 include some original correspondence, and much background material of the 1980's - newspaper cuttings, articles, briefing notes, extracts from Hansard, handouts from the Council for the Advancement of Arab-British Understanding (CAABU), etc, and some earlier items inserted for reference. Most cuttings, etc, are heavily annotated
