Copy letter from J.P. to M.A. Fitter in reply to M.A.F.'s letter of 5th July. J.P. understands that M.A.F. wishes him to consider that his views on the two points raised by the purchaser are unchanged and as expressed in his letter of the 3rd inst. Except for Mr Pugh J.P.'s clients have a greater pecuniary interest in the sale of the china works than M.A.F.'s clients. However he feels sure that the vendors will co-operate in reaching a speedy conclusion. The purchaser is keen, but a postponement of the completion date indefinitely would render him indifferent and might induce him to withdraw. He has seen Messrs Finney, Bruff & Co., & does not doubt that his clients would agree to the suggestion that any loss be borne equally between the estate and the purchaser. The purchaser does require that the Receiver be freed from liability in connection with his accounts before the completion date. Although the estate is under the administration of the Court and is insolvent, only the creditors' views would be considered in the matter. He hopes M.A.F. will agree to audit the accounts out of court. Messrs Finney, Bruff & Co. are preparing the draft of the formal contract. He asks that M.A.F. send copies of the deeds relating to the Newcastle St. & Manchester premises, and an Abstract of Title of Lumley's premises to Messrs F., B. & Co.
