Address, dated 18 Feb 1860, from the Madras Native Association protesting at the Indian Government's actions in abolishing the Raj of Tanjore and confiscating the private property of the late Raja (d 1855), presented to John Bruce Norton (1815-83), lawyer and judicial office holder, Madras 1843-71, on the occasion of his intended visit to England as Agent for the Ranis of Tanjore.
