Description

Collection of loose prints of Tibet and Sikkim in six parts (Photo 1112/1-6) and a collection of duplicate film negatives (original nitrate negatives destroyed) at Neg 1112; the majority photographed by Bell, but including the work of other photographers, including Henry Martin. Formerly part of the Bell Collection at Mss Eur F80. Sir Charles Alfred Bell (1870-1945), administrator and Tibetologist; entered Indian Civil Service and appointed Political Officer, Sikkim in 1908; subsequently Political Officer for Sikkim, Bhutan and Tibet until 1918.
