Following the re-establishing of William Temple House (MEC/WTH) 'on a sounder financial basis', the Missionary and Ecumenical Council were instructed by the National Assembly to form The International Students' Club (Church of England) Ltd. The Club was incorporated on 20 April 1965, the Earl of March appointed Chairman, and properties purchased; 5 in Sussex Gardens and 1 in Westbourne Terrace, Paddington, London. Following purchase their conversion for use as a residential club for Overseas Students was undertaken, with the completed hostel able to house 165 students. A MECCA nominated representative acted as an Ex-Officio member of the Management Board.
