His preface includes:-
"By my being left Executor to my uncle Mr. Henry Weller and Administrator to my father Mr. Thomas Weller, I had the opportunity of examining both their studies ... when I thought that the best way to preserve them was to transcribe them into a book".

Robt. Weller is resident at Tonbridge & Geo. Weller at Middle Temple for most of the time, 1728-1744.
