Copy of petition by inhabitants of Leighton Buzzard to John, Bishop of Lincoln, keeper of Great Seal, signed by 53 people, including Thos. Howe: "Whereas your petitioners have obteyned the free consent of xij benficed preachers residing neere to the town of Leighton aforesaid to Preach a weekely lecture on Tuesday ... humbly beseech your Lordship to establish the intended lecture .... your petitioners having had a weeklie lecture of long continuance before the late Cannons" (Copy of an undated document in P.R.O., probably of 1621-5: watermark 1856)
