The company was known as the Weavers Craft, Craft of Weavers. Occupation of Weavers, Company and Fellowship of Weavers or Fellowship of Weavers, until 1610-1611; then after merging with the Clothiers Company, with which relationships had previously been poor, (see The Coventry Leet Book 1420-1555, translated and edited by M.D. Harris, Early English Text Society, 1907-13, pp.776-7), the company became the Company and Fellowship of Weavers and Clothiers, Clothiers and Weavers, The Company of Weavers and Clothiers, The Company of Clothiers, The Company and Fellowship of Clothiers, and, from 1730 continuously and infrequently between 1650 and that date, The Company of Broadweavers and Clothiers.
