Agenda: Sapphire contract position. Six Sa.7 required for HP.80 aircraft. Sapphire 7 test position. 150-hour development test on Hunter type sa.6 engine. Sapphire 6 & 7 future development programme. Sapphire flying test beds: AST Lancaster VM.733; Gloster Meteor WA.820; Canberra WD.933; Canberra 2nd aircraft VW.787. Prototype aircraft: Gloster Javelin (twin Sa.6 engines) 1staircraft crash landed June 1952. Agreed at previous meeting that the engine would be broken down and servicable parts would be used as spares for development engines, remaining parts to be used for instructional engines. Gloster javelin 2nd aircraft WD.808; Gloster Javelin 6th aircraft requires Sa.7 engines; Gloster T118.D Trainer (twin Sa.6 engines). Bristol application for Viper. Viper in tail of Lancaster SW.342. Double Mamba: test position. Aircraft: Fairey 3rd aircraft WE.488 (3-seater); Blackburn GR17/45 WB.797. Mamba: Test position. Engines for 2nd Apollo aircraft. Mamba aircraft: Lancaster SW.342; Apollo VX.220; Dakota KJ.839; Balliol VL.935; Mamba Mk.6 engines for Short SB.6. Python: Test position. Aircraft Wyvern VW.868 provisioned for Armstrong Siddeley Motors. Rocket: Screamer rocket motor. Provision of aircraft for Screamer tests. New test houses and plant. Snarler rocket: Mr Dunning has informed Armstrong Siddeley Motors that this motor is not to be flown in the P.1072 by RAE and Armstrong Siddeley Motors have now requested the return of this rocket motor.
