Description (What the record is about)

The records which were deposited at Hall Place in 1980, include minute books, 1880-1905 and 1919-1952; these include reports of lectures as well as minutes of council meetings. A series of scrapbooks covering the period 1887-1951 also provide a useful insight into the activities of the Society. The records also contain an important collection of photographs by Philip E.W. Street (d.1974) of Sidcup and the surrounding area taken as part of the Sidcup and District Regional Survey from 1928 onwards. Copies of many of the photographs, obtained from the Historical Monuments Record, are in the Section's Illustrations Collection.
