Loyal Lodge was granted a warrant by the Moderns' Grand Lodge to meet as No. 453 on 23 August 1783 and was consecrated on 23 September 1783. The Lodge met at the Globe Inn [Freemasons' Arms], Cross Street, Barnstaple, Devon. It was renumbered as No. 365 in 1792 and was given the number No. 469 at the union between the Moderns' and Antients' Grand Lodges in 1813 to form the United Grand Lodge of England. The Lodge was renumbered as No. 312 in 1832 and as No. 251 in 1863. The lodge now meets at the Masonic Hall, 4 Trafagar Lawn, Barnstaple.
