The chapel was formed in 1884, the membership being drawn from the older established chapel at Wheelock Heath. The chapel building, a conversion of two cottages on the site, was erected in 1887. From 1956 until the closure of Haslington in 1971, Haslington and Wheelock Heath were a joint pastorate.
