Christ Church, Quinton on the Hagley Road West was built in 1841 and was subsequently restored in 1890 and 1928. A parish was assigned to it out of Halesowen parish in 1841. The benefice had the status of a perpetual curacy from 1841 until 1866 when it became a rectory. The patronage was in the gift of the rector of Halesowen until 1905 when it was transferred to the Bishop of Birmingham.
Parts of the parish were taken to form the following parishes: St Paul, Blackheath (1869); St Faith and St Laurence, Harborne (1933); and St Boniface, Quinton Road West (1958)
Various missions in the parish were also licensed for public worship and include the following: St Katherine's Mission Church (formerly Warley Mission Room) (1898); St Lawrence's Mission Church, Beech Lanes (1901-37); St Mark's Mission Church, Londonderry (licensed in 1928 and constituted as a district in 1929); St Hilda's Mission Church, Warley Woods (licensed in 1907 and to which a statutory district was assigned in 1930)
