The lodge of Antiquity No. 178 was established in 1786 and met at the Queen's Head, Market Place, Wigan, Lancashire. In 1786 the lodge was named the Antient Royal Arch Lodge and in 1841 it was renamed the Lodge of Antiquity. The lodge now meets at Tower Buildings, Wallgate, Wigan, Lancashire.
