The 'Speculum ecclesiae' by St. Edmund of Abingdon (1175-1240), Archishop of Canterbury, also known as Edmund Rich and Eadmund of Canterbury. A single quire only, ending incomplete. p. 1. A table under 37 heads of 'materie que tacte sunt in sermonibus ... sequentibus'. Begins 'In nomine domini nostri ihesu cristi Amen. Iste liber est`qui´ docet vere et perfecte viuere et est nominatus speculum sancti edmundi confessoris in honore domini nostri ...'. pp. 2-24. Text. Begins: 'Videte ad quod vocati estis. Ista verba Apostoli pertinent nobis hominibus religiosis ...' Ends: '... incipit credere firmiter quod' (ends imperfectly). The last words now remaining are in chapter 27 of the edition by M. de la Bigne, 'Bibliotheca Sanctorum Patrum', 1589, v. 1449 B.
