The volume was purchased from Mr. Ford, Ruabon, Wrexham, Clwyd on 28 May 1980.

Administrative / biographical background

Daniel Peck was a Chester merchant, well established by 1703, who traded in a wide variety of merchandise, including coal, rock salt, wheat, Cheshire cheese, wine, tallow, iron and lead. This letter book gives details of his trade with merchants in Bristol, London, Wales, Ireland, France, Spain, Holland and elsewhere.
