Chairman, Jute Working Party 1946-7, Independent Member (apptd by Board of Trade) of Cinematograph Films Council 1948, Member, Exec Ctte of Scottish Council, Sp Ctte of Inquiry into Scottish Revenue & Expenditure (apptd by Sec of State) 1950. Brit Transport Commsn 1950, Chairman, Iron & Stell Corpn of GB 1950-52, ex-Chairman Brit Oxygen Co Ltd. Died 22/7/1969.
