Attached envelope, 'Red Sea Lighting Southern Part', containing the following documents: firstly, notes by the Hydrographer, dated the 22nd June 1892, suggesting 3 different ideas on where to place lighting in the Strait of Mandeb at the southern entrance into the Red Sea, between Jebel Tier to Perim Island; secondly, 3 chart cuttings of the same area showing all 3 ideas, annotated with 'Proposed Lights No 1', 'Proposed Lights No 2', and 'Proposed Lights No 3', page 5.
Attached fold-out chart cutting, depicting the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, England, including Sheerness, Maplin and the Medway River, annotated with 'Showing depositing areas off Sheerness Bar', page 6.
