Description

Collection compiled by William Cornelius Emery (1895-1964), North Staffordshire Regiment (uncle of the donor's late husband), during service in India, and comprising:. Photo 1170/1. 88 black-and-white and coloured postcards of India and Pakistan. Locations and subjects include Caclutta, Karachi, Lahore, Solan, the Kalka-Simla Railway, Belgaum and Delhi. Photo 1170/2. 91 photographs of India and Pakistan, c. 1910s-20s, some amateur snapshots, but including a series of photographs of Indian types, trades and occupations probably taken by an Indian studio. Locations include: Karachi, Solon, Calcutta, Bombay, Dagshai, Dalhousie, Barog, Lahore.
