Folio 381. Letter from James Saunders, Clerk to the East Dereham Local Board in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to the Local Government Board, in response to a query contained in their letter of 20 December 1879 concerning the reappointment of W H Nankivell [William Henry Nankivell] as inspector of nuisances. He confirms that Nankivell has agreed to give the sanitary authority one months notice previous to resigning from his officer or to forfeit 'such a sum as may be agreed upon as liquidated damage pursuant to section 2, article 3 of the General Order of 11 November 1872'. He requests Nankivell's appointment to be sanctioned by the Board.
