Abbotsley is an ancient parish in the Archdeaconry of Huntingdon. Until 1837 it was in the Diocese of Lincoln; since 1837 it been in the Diocese of Ely.
The parish was within St Neots Poor Law Union 1836-1930, St Neots Rural Sanitary District 1872-1896, and St Neots Rural District 1896-1974. Since 1974 the parish has been within Huntingdonshire District.
