Description

For property in Norfolk Place, Curtain Rd (later Dereham Place and 76 & 76a (later 74-76 Rivington Street.

Series begins with sale of land on north side of Norfolk Place with Nos 7-8, 15-17 and sites of 9-14, by Robert James Stuckey to Nathan Moss in 1877 (1; plan on deed). One month later Moss leases the site to James Latham of 124 Curtain Rd, timber merchant (3, plan on deed, sites of 9- -14 described as 'ruins') for 21 years. In August 1877 Stuckey sells 1-6 Norfolk Place to John King Farlow (5). In 1882 Farlow is involved in a High Court case over loss oflight and air caused by erection of model dweelings on site of Nos 1-3½ Norfolk Place (6). Farlow sold to Latham in 1892 (8, plan on deed); MOss selling to Latham in the same year (9) In 1898 Latham agrees with Reuben Button for a building lease to Button for land in Rivington St (later 74-76) (10, plan on deed).

In 1899 the new warehouse on the site is leased back to Latham by Button (13 plan on deed).

Nos 14-24 are various mortgages and reconveyances. (25) is a lease by J.A.Lainson to James Latham Ltd of 120-124 (even )Curtain Rd and 74 Rivington St for 21 years in 1928. In 1950 Lathams sell 74-76 Rivington St to J.E. & T.A.Coats & Co Ltd (26). (27) is various land searches and copies of planning applications etc, 1950-66; (28) is a survey of 74-76 Rivington St by S.Harris for Messrs N.JOnas & Co, 1978.
