Description (What the record is about)
-
The church of St Andrew in Wickham Road was built as a mission church to Bexhill St Barnabas. It was designed by J B Wall and dedicated on 4 Mar 1900. In 1931 it became the focal point of the newly constituted conventional district of West Bexhill. This area came within the parish of Bexhill St Augustine when it was formed out of the parish of Bexhill St Barnabas by an order in council of 22 Jun 1934 and St Andrew's became a daughter church of St Augustine. In 1950 the conventional district of St Andrew was formed. For the records of St Augustine see PAR243.
