After holding curacies at Farnham and Eastleigh, Morgan was appointed Warden of the College of the Ascension in 1923. He became Archdeacon of Winchester in 1936 and Suffragan Bishop of Southampton in 1943. He was Bishop of Truro from 1951 to 1959.
