Description

John Duncombe was 'an attorney and considerable farmer near Berkhamsted' and the collection includes the deeds of family property in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire and the papers of their practice, including those of manors for which they were stewards and much relating to the famous Berkhamsted Grammar School.

The document referring to Tottell the Elizabethan printer (29120) and a number of items relating to William Lowndes' Westminster property (DE/B664/29341, 29508, 29528, 29628, 29631-3, 29640, 29645, 29716, & 29718) are of special interest
