Survey volume File No. 77921 covers which covers the Ecclesiastical Corporations of York, which were transferred to the Ecclesiastical Commissioners under mid nineteenth century parliamentary legislation. ; This volume covers one survey carried out on behalf of the Ecclesiastical Commissioners by their appointed land agents, Messrs. Clutton. The preferments in this volume concern the following: Grindall and Warthill Prebends Estates, which were transferred to the Ecclesiastical Commissioners on 9 January 1841 by vancancy.; This survey was essential to the Ecclesiastical Commissioners, as it was the most comprehensive way of clearly ascertaining the extent and condition of the preferments that had been transferred. ; The geographical areas covered within the volume includes: the county of Devon, parishes of Axminster, Kilmington and Membury.
