Maroon half-leather album, 380 x 305 mm, containing mounted prints with captions handwritten in pencil. The album has been rebound (1995) with pages interleaved with silversafe paper; the original title, 'Photographs', has been pasted on the front cover. The album appears to have been compiled by Dr John Murray, Civil Surgeon at Agra and accomplished photographer, and includes topographical views in Agra, Allahabad, Almora, Amber, Brindaban, Calcutta, Delhi, Dig, Fatehpur Sikri, Gobardhan, Gwalior, Jaipur, Lahore, Landour, Muttra, Niani Tal and Sikandra, but more importantly a substantial collection of portraits of citizens and visitors to Agra, including civil servants, military personnel, their wives and children.
