The document at one time belonged to a member of the Mant family of Storrington, and therefore most probably came from the Mant firm of solicitors. It had been kept in a stable, and had been saturated by lamp oil. It is in a poor state of repair, and the oil saturation makes the latter pages in particular difficult to read
