Administrative / biographical background

Prior to 1876 the organ stood on the central stone screen dividing the choir and nave. A new organ was built on the screen across the north transept, by Messrs Charles Whitely of Chester. The plans listed below were made by Sir G Gilbert Scott about 1876, at various scales.
