Papers include a three-way correspondence among Thomson, Bishop Porteus, and Bishop Charles Inglis of Nova Scotia (300-2, 307-8) in which Thomson, who has been serving as schoolmaster in Nova Scotia, asks Bishop Inglis to ordain him for Bermuda and Bishop Inglis declines for fear of invading the jurisdiction of the Bishop of London, though Bishop Porteus disclaims any jurisdiction.
