Articles of agreement, indented.

(i) David Lewis of Penstrowed, co. Mtg., gent.

(ii) Mathew Pryce of Parke-pen-pryce, co. Mtg., esq.

1. (i), in consid. of £100 principal on mortgage made by (i) to (ii) of messuage and lands in Penstrowed, co. Mtg., called Ty Catherine Thomas and of £40 paid by (ii) to Elizabeth Phillips and (i), and of interest on these sums and other reckonings amounting to £155 8s., and of £44 of which (i) has received £4, agrees that he and Lewis David, his son and heir apparent shall convey messuage and lands called Ty Catherine Thomas, and 2 meadows in Penstrowed, mortgaged to Richard Philips, devised to Elizabeth Philips and lately assigned to (ii) free from all conditions of redemption.

2. (i) to indemnify (ii) from his covenant to indemnify Walter Clapton, esq. and his deputies for releasing (i) from imprisonment at suit of Moris Edwards, dec'd., and (ii) to have all timber and felled trees which have not been put to use, esp. ash and elm near highway.

3. Release to contain covenants about enjoyment free from encumbrance and further conveyances of premises to (ii) except cottage called Ty yn y Cumme which was comprised in the mortgage.

4. (ii) to have possession on 25 March next of premises in occupation of Meredyth Hugh, and on 1 March of other premises, except mansion house which he is to have on 1 May next. (i) to have rent from Meredyth Hugh until 25 March.

5. (ii) to have all muck or compost made on premises for present year.

6. (ii)covenants to pay £40 on 1 March, and to release cottage called Ty yn y Cumme to (i).

Endorsement: 1685 May 9. (i) acquits (ii) of £5, part of the £40 within mentioned.
