TONBRIDGE OFFICER KILLED
LIEUT. F. J. WEBBER.
With much regre< we hear of the death in
action la France, on November 30th, of Llout.
T* J. Wobber. Machine Gun Corps, youngest
son of Councillor ,F- and Mrs. Webber, of
Quarry Hill Nurseries. Tonbridge. Only 25
years of age. His sterling qualities earned for •
Wra the highest respect of all with whom he •
came in contact. Ou the very day of *us death
a daughter w.i> bora to him. And the sincere*
sympathy is extended 10 the bereaved widow,
as welt us the father and mother and,other
relatives. Lieut We.ltbnr received his education
at the Judxl Commercial School, and on leav-
nWf was awarded a scholarship by the Sfcln-ner's
Company and went to King's College Softool.
Strand, whore he passed his examination for
the Civil service, and in the first division of the
London Matriculation In June. 1915. he
Joined as a private in the Civil Service Rifles,
and in October. 1916, was gaieoted Sub-Llefc*
tenant to the Machine Gun Corps- r;
