4 horse power double-acting crank engine, with 12? inch cylinder, 3 foot stroke, parallel motion.Coloured original and reverse general view of the engine, coloured original and reverse plans and sections of the engine and boiler; reverse plan and elevation of the engine and engine house, premises, horse wheel and millwork with revised location of engine stuck on; reverse plan and sections of the framing and cistern; wheels and teeth - reverse drawings; working gear - coloured original front and side views; parallel motion - original coloured drawing marked "a miserable sketch"; reverse plan and section of the premises showing horse wheel, tuns, coppers, pumps etc.; rough press copy sketch plan of the premises showing horse wheel, original intended location of engine etc. All the drawings except the last 2 items bear letter codes.

For Philip Langmead, James Elliot and John Clark Langmead. Brewery, Plymouth. The firm was often referred to simply as "Langmead & Co.", but they sign their correspondence Clark Langmead & Co.
