By Acts 8-9 Victoria c.16 and c.20 (1845), canal, railway and other like-undertaking companies were to deposit with the appropriate Clerk of the Peace a copy of the Special Enabling Act. These papers comprise Acts, Orders and associated papers establishing the companies and extending their schemes, and may include petitions of the County Council and affected parishes against schemes.
