Genre: Architectural Photography. India Museum No. 131. Showing exterior façade of cave: 'a small excavation that may have been originally a verandah...but the front wall and dividing partition have been cut away, and the walls pretty nearly covered with sculpture, consisting of sitting and standing Buddhas with attendant chauri-bearers, in some cases unfinished. These are additions of Mahayana Buddhists of the sixth or seventh century.' Fergusson and Burgess, The Cave Temples of India (London, 1880), p.267. Duplicate of Photo 1000 (635).
