Letter from E. Farmer, to Rev. R.J.Davies.
The memorandum of agreement Davies sent him runs thus: that Farmer will be at liberty to use the water for irrigation; but not at any season when it shall be considered by the occupier of Brompton Mill necessary for the purposes of the Mill. He cannot allow Davies's present tenant to have the power of giving him notice that he considers the water necessary for his mill, which notice under the agreement would be binding on him, or he fears he would never have the use of the water at all. What he said to D. in Montgomery was that he did not set up any right to use the water to the prejudice or detriment of his mill; and he will be ready at all times when it is so used to prevent it as far as he is able.
