Description

Letter (3 sheets) from Euphemia Attenborough, Sawtry to T C Hipwell sorry Frank not allowed to sell the corn Dick likely to want to apply for these farms again and borrow money if he can, despite misery over money matters, writer feels cannot go on there "proved farming on borrowed capital is no good" subsidiary agreement about other farm "which Colonel Cavendish signed; we think signed unknown to the others" going to take Stanley Attenborough's advice about that - don't see where capital is to come from, however really better than last two years been terrified about money matters Dick been in running for post up North - did not get it "not the first who has to leave the place he was born in" "it has been very hard work, to keep this big house tidy, do poultry and gardening, with only a maid 15 years old, if it had not been for Miss Glover I could not have done it" except wages, kept expenses down to 30/- per week his family advised him wiser course "like poor father he is possessed with the craze for land"answered 31 August 1913
