The Lodge of St. George was established in 1780. The the lodge was named the Lodge of George in 1787 and renamed the Lodge of St. George in 1792. The lodge was held in the First [or King's] Regiment of Dragoon Guards and therefore travelled the country with the regiment. In 1783 the regiment were at Canterbury, Kent. In 1785 they were stationed at Exeter and in 1786 they had moved to York. The lodge made it's last payments in1792 and was erased in 1813.
