Description

Collection in four parts (Photo 441/1-4), containing photographs relating to the official activities of Sir Conrad Corfield in India. Sir Conrad Laurence Corfield (1893-1980) joined the Indian Civil Service in 1920 and transferred to the Political Department in 1925, serving in Kathiawar, Baluchistan, Rajasthan, Central India and Hyderabad. He was Joint Secretary, Political Department, Simla, 1934-38, Resident at Jaipur 1938-40, Resident for the Punjab States, 1941-45, and Political Adviser to the Viceroy as Crown Represenative 1945-47.
