Joynson died in 1850. Thomas Plowden Presland by will 20 October 1851 devised to George Pritchard and William Henry Slaney, subject to the settlement, his manor of Cosford, Gosford Grange and property in Cosford, Albrighton and Donington, on trusts during the life of the testator's wife, with her concurrence, in the event of their being no issue of the marriage, to raise £3000 for her use, or instead to sell the estate.
Presland died 4 August 1855, will proved PCC 19 October 1855
The £3000 was not raised.
On 17 September 1856 the trustees by their agent George Potts of Broseley gentleman, with the concurrence of the widow, agreed to sell to John Jones for £30,000
Consideration: £3000 paid as deposit and £27,000 now paid
Conveyance of the manor of Cosford, Cosford Grange, (William Henry Cope esq) and land (William Henry cope and William Earp), site of water corn mill and land (now or late John Shenton), discharged from all mortgages, to such uses as Jones shall appoint, in default on trust for him and assigns during his life, to use of Murcott on trust for him and to prevent any claim for dower, after to use of John Jones, his heirs and assigns for ever
