Indenture between 1) John Harries of Middle Temple, London, and Frances Harries his wife, one of the daughters and devisee of the will of Edward Fleming late of Sibdon Carwood, decd, and sister of Gilbert Fleming of Sibdon Carwood decd. who died intestate; 2) John Cotes of Woodcote, Esq. Frances Harries by the will of Edward Fleming her father and death of Gilbert Fleming her brother, is seised of 1/3 part of premises below mentioned. Release to John Cotes of the messuage in Sibdon called the Hall of Sibdon Carwood, with garden hempbutt and lands, the Well Yard, the Pitt Meadow Leasow, the two Pitts Meadows, the Guildy Bruch, the Great Hentley, the Great Furlong, the new Inclosure, the Gutter and Gutters Meadow, the Low Leasow and Meadows, the Barley Leasow and Crooked lands, the Short Furlong and Guildy Meadow, the Great Line Acres, the Little Line Acres and the Line Acres Meadow, the 3 Great Leasows, the Line Crofts Meadow, the two Great Meadows, the Cold Hills and Meadows, the Cow Leasow, the Little Hall and the Bray Meadow; messuage called William Greenwoods Tenement and several pieces of land,i.e. the Backside, the 2 Garbuges, the 3 inclosures in the field, the long Acres, the Stock in the Line Croft Meadow, the Dorling Silch and the Mell, all in Sibdon Carwood (formerly John Tasker); messuage called the Bruches, 4 parcels called the Pikes; 5 parcels called the Bruches, the Long Meadow in Sibdon Carwood, piece called the Slang, 3 pieces called the Stockins Land in Broom, in Sibdon Carwood, and in Rowton in Stoke (formerly Francis Tipton) all which premises were afterwards in the holding of Edward Fleming, James Lloyd, John Edwards, Thomas Evans and Thomas Pugh, now or late in the holdings of Gilbert Fleming decd., James Lloyd, John Edwards, John Oliver and Thomas Haycock, and bought by Edward Fleming from Ann Tasker, widow of John Tasker,and from John their only son and heir; with the addition of a messuage called the Ryes in the township of Cheney Longville, which messuage lately called the New Inn, formerly in the tenure of William Blakeway, now of John Edwards; that messuage called the Henhouse in the parish of Mainstone, late of Jane Lewis, widow and John Lewis her son, now of Humphrey Lewis, and the chapels, impropriations, tithes, glebe and advowsons of Sibdon and Edgton, 1/3 Manor of Sibdon, the Hall, Sibdon, and 3 messuages, which premises were by indenturesof lease and release of 13 & 14 June 1725 between Humphrey Walcot of Bitterley and Ann his wife and Richard Fleming, conveyed to Richard Fleming; messuage in Sibdon in the tenure of John Carter, etc, as in 465/165, conveyed by lease and release of 25 & 26 March 1727 by the Walcots to Rd. Fleming; messuage and lands in Hopesay called Oldfield (Jeremiah Nethway and Thomas Hughes, then Rd. Fleming) and 2 cottages on part of the tenement, one in possession of John Robinson, the other of Nicholas Janatt, then Wm. Nethway and Higgins), which premises by indenturesof lease and release of 19 & 20 September 1727 between John Walcot of Walcot, George Walcot of Ludlow and Thomas Downs of Purslow, of the first part, and Richard Fleming of the second, were conveyed to Richard Fleming at the yearly rent of 13s 4d payable to John Walcot; 1/3 of the lordship of Westhope in Diddlebury with the chapel of Westhope; messuage called the Farm in the tenure of William Higgins, messuage called Lower House of Henry Haines, messuage called the Moor Wood, of Thomas Greenhalgh, messuage called The Moores Wood of John Hill, with lands now and then enclosed of Richard Fleming, messuage called Hill End of Edward Amis, messuage of Griffith Davies, messuage of widows Hotchkiss and Batley, messuage and lands of John Pritchard, messuage of Edward Harper and widow Harper, messuage of Richard Matthews, messuage of John Griffiths, messuage of widow Trustram and widow Bright, messuage of Edward Harley, a cottage, garden and close of Robert Rowlands, and parcels of land of Thomas Smith, piece of meadow land called Corfield Meadow of Thomas Rowlands, coppices and wood lands in Westhope (120 acres) called the Long Copps, Moores Wood and Burwood, 1/3 share in the capital messuage or farm of Shadwell, parish of Clun, etc. and a messuage once used with Shadwell Farm now divided from it called the New House (Rd. & John Parry), messuages in the parish of Mainstone and in the forest of Clun, a messuage called the Three Gates (John Cleeton), messuage called Bronydd (Samuel Oliver), barn and close in Clun (John Mathews), burgage and garden in Clun ( Hawkins, glazier), burgage, garden and close in Clun ( Beavan), messuage called the Reilth in Mainstone (John Price then Wm Leak, late of Hugh Pugh and Thos. Bird or undertenants of Edw. Fleming), 2 pieces of land called Dolvovrog, Mainstone, messuage and lands called the Ashes, Mainstone (Mathew James then Samuel Bird or undertenants of Joseph Corbyn), messuage in Forest of Clun called Comb Moch with a sheepwalk on the Ridings in the Forest (Edw. Bowen then John Walcot, Esq., then Rd. Fleming), and property in the tenure of Jane, John,Jeremiah and Humphrey Lewis and John Griffiths),and all other property which on the death of Gilbert Fleming came to Frances Harries as one of his sisters and coheiresses, and all houses, edifices, lands, gardens, orchards, lanes, meadows, commons, profits, commodities, etc. pertaining to the premises, and all estate, right and title of John Harries and Frances his wife. To hold by John Cotes and his heirs to the use of such persons as assigned by writing by John Harries and Frances.
Covenant that John and Frances Harries in Hilary Term next to levy a fine to John Cotes and heirs of all manors, messuages, lands and tenements, tithes, advowsons and premises granted, 5 messuages, 2 cottages, 5 gardens, 5 orchards, 200 acres of land, 100 acres of meadow, 200 acres of pasture, 30 acres of wood, 5 acres of land covered with water, 100 acres of furze and heath, and common of pasture for all cattle in Sibdon Carwood, Edgton, Wistanstow, Mainstone, Stoke and the tithes and advowsons of Sibdon and Edgton, of one third of the Manors of Sibdon and Westhope and one third of 40 messuages, 10 cottages, 5 dovehouses, 40 gardens, 40 orchards, 1200 acres of land, 600 acres of meadow, 1200 acres of pasture, 500 acres of wood, 50 acres of land covered with water, 1000 acres of furze and heath and common of pasture for all manner of cattle in Sibdon Carwood, Diddlebury,
Hopesay, Stoke, Clun and Mainstone. Advowson of the chapel of Westhope.
